Apollo 15 Crew
Overview
Apollo 15 was the ninth crewed mission in the United States' Apollo program and the fourth to land on the Moon. The crew of Apollo 15 was composed of Commander David R. Scott, Command Module Pilot Alfred M. Worden, and Lunar Module Pilot James B. Irwin.
David R. Scott
David Randolph Scott was born on June 6, 1932, in San Antonio, Texas. He was selected as an astronaut in 1963 and served as the Commander of Apollo 15. Scott was the seventh person to walk on the Moon and spent a total of 18 hours and 35 minutes outside the spacecraft during three moonwalks.
Alfred M. Worden
Alfred Merrill Worden, born on February 7, 1932, in Jackson, Michigan, was the Command Module Pilot for Apollo 15. He was responsible for orbiting the Moon while Scott and Irwin explored the lunar surface. Worden performed the first deep-space extravehicular activity during the mission.
James B. Irwin
James Benson Irwin, born on March 17, 1930, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, served as the Lunar Module Pilot for Apollo 15. Irwin spent a total of 18 hours and 35 minutes on the
